On this one day course you will learn how to make a French mattress cushion in wool.
We will be focusing on all natural materials, to avoid nasty chemicals and foams. So not only will you learn how to make a very stylish French style mattress cushion but you will be learning all about the importance of natural materials and how to use them. You will be taught how to measure and create the right size box cushion, how to correctly stuff it with the right amount of stuffing for the firmness you want and size. Pinning and slip stitching the end to make a sealed cover with an invisible seam. Prepping and stitching your edges to a professional standard and you will learn how to make buttons and French tufts to finish off the cushion. Everything is provided on this course so you only need to bring yourself and some lunch. Come and spend the day with us and get crafting.
If you want to make a bigger cushion or want to supply your own fabric then please contact us so we can tell you how much fabric you'll need. We will need you fabric in advance as the box cushion covers are made in advance of the course.
