COST: £1,500
This course can be started at any time throughout the year.
This 3-week foundation in course is aimed at a beginner who wants a structured introduction to the basics of upholstery. You will learn about the difference between modern and traditional upholstery, get comfortable using a sewing machine and learn when your woodwork needs stripping back and when it needs reviving and how to do these things to a professional level. You will become familiar with the tools of the trade as you are guided through a series of projects. We will help you build your skills so you can take your new hobby to the next level. You may even decide to enrol onto the AMUSF Diploma course, and this foundation course will give you the confidence you need to do so.
There is no official marking on this course, but we will give your constructive feedback along the way. This course is great way to get started in the wonderful world of upholstery without any pressure of marking or deadlines.
